Obligatory Hello! My name's Ashley, I'm 26 (until the 11th of this month
) and I live in Georgia. I decorate wedding cakes for a living, and sell electronics part time, and I am considering starting college in the summer for Marine Biology so I can go live even nearer the coast.
I'm not new to treasure hunting in general, just new to the concept of treasure hunting with a metal detector. I'm a super frugal person, and my previous adventures involved curbside treasure hunting and (brace yourselves) dumpster diving.
Who would order a cake from me if they knew that? Haha.
But when you're a girl that pulled a retired $800 wedding gown new with tags in pristine condition from the dumpster, and used the profit to pay for her vacation last year, you stop caring about who's talking about you while your legs are hanging out of a dumpster door. :p

I have always lurked online treasure hunting hobby communities, but I recall remember the stories told by hunters with metal detectors as the most entertaining and memorable.
I don't have a machine yet, but my birthday is upon me, and my boyfriend has pledged $300.
I'm open for advice on my purchase.
