i am so new i dont even have a detector yet  Shocked . i'm 45 years young live in lexington nc.
Just bought this house, it was built in 1906, so yeah i got a real good deal on it, found some real old stuff in the house... wooden ironing board, a electric heater with open wire coils and an old metal milk jug, my wife got to thinkin if they had left stuff like that behind what might they have left in the yard, there is a big building in the back yard that the floor is red brick but not cemented just laid in there, building must come down, looks to have been build in the 40's who knows maybe earlier than that. have been reading this forum and friendly forum, and i think i am already addicted, thought MD'ing was cool when i was young. I saw a guy in Jersey using one when i was about 12, at union lake, i was moving to another fishing area and was passing by and heard it sound off.I hung out a bit and watched him dig out half a honda motorcycle name plate, i was like, awww man i thought that was gonna be something good, always wanted to do it but always had something else i wanted to do...hunt fish chase women... heh heh what else is there when your in your teens, i think its time i atleast check my yard and maybe a few empty lots around here, theres a MD supplier that has a pretty good deal on BH505's guess i'll get one of those, the soil here is mostly cecil clay and i hear that type of soil is pretty mineralized and the 505's have manual ground balance so i'm guessin thats my best bet for under $200

Welcome al f from Utah! Lots of things to read in this forum.. Just dive right in. Yes, be sure to get yourself a metal detector. As home suggested that Ace 250 I've heard a lot of wonderful things about them. I just bought myself an Ace 350 (for around $80 more) and like it so far. If you don't find a local store to buy one, there's a great internet site where many of us have gotten our which is the KellyCo website (where I got mine), and no I don't work for them.

the Bh 505 actually sells for quite a bit more but K-co has some scratch and dent, i compared the 505 and the 250 on the K-co site and i feel the 505 edges out the 250..but then again the 505 msrp is $500+ and the 250 is around $300 msrp not exactly apples to apples, but by far a better deal.

Al u Buy whatever your comfortable with , and whatever u feel is right for your area.
cause it's  ur money and ur opinion will be the only one to count in the end.

However U could send the KellycoChick "Jamie" an email and see if they will price match for u.

Just a thought !  Wink
