Hi everyone,

Met a man on Venice beach FL this afternoon as he was metal detecting. He told me about this site because I was pumping him with a lot of questions.

I started metal detecting this past April. I live in Warren, MI but have a place in Venice, FL.

I am trying to find a lot of tips to make treasure hunting more enjoyable and less tiring on my arms.

Any suggestions?

Stashew

Hey Stashew......finding stuff makes the swing less tiring  Wink   So do lighter machines (if you can afford them) and/or using a swingy-thingy or something similar if you aren't ready to switch machines.   It also helps to occasionally switch hands.

Thanks, the guy I met on the beach today rigged something up with bungee cords around his neck. He said it works like a charm. He probably should patent it.

That's the basic concept of the swingy-thingy.   If you set it up right, it can be a great help.   If you don't, it can be more trouble than it's worth (done it both ways  Wink )

I agree the swingy-thing is great if used right! But what a pain if its NOT right!
