Minelab Explorer XS

Yep, just digging around on the net and dug up this site, (haha)...

I have become obsessed with watching metal detecting videos on youtube. I have been researching metal detectors and just picked up a great deal on a Minelab Explorer XS. I was wanting to get a Garrett AT Pro due to the fact we have a place down at the lake, and thought it would be great for its waterproof features. When I first got the Minelab I was digging every nail in our yard, but after reading Andy Sabisch's book and doing some research, I am starting to become quite proficient with it. I hope to take some video in the next few weeks and do my own youtube videos... So far I haven't found anything too exciting, about 30 clads, an old makeup tin from the 30's, and part of an old fork (might be civil war era). But the main thing is I'm having GREAT fun with it. I have been a long time coin collector and this just adds a new excitement to it. I also have a 5 year old daughter that has been having fun with it. Of course kids love playing in the dirt, and "looking for treasure".

Hello, Alan.  Having fun is what it is all about for some of our members and getting the real pay off is where it is at for the others.   Fortunately the two tend to get along well and learn from each other.
