Going back to Colorado with my new detector and gold pan to strike it rich, or just have fun.

welcome from Arizona......glad you threw in that last little bit because while we hope you succeed at the first, we can be pretty confident you'll at least accomplish the latter.

Right now I live in Florida and my son lives near Farmington, NM.  When i go to see him in July again I plan on spending a lot of time in CO around the old mines.  Any good places to detect in NM up near the four corners area that you know of?

If I keep this up I will be up to my 5 posts and be a real member.   Grin

Yeah BA, I've panned before but never used a detector to help.  I have done a bit of mining in Colorado (Leadville) so know how hard this is.  I have a girlfriend who I have convinced she can learn to pan while I give her the dirt.  She has no idea how cold that water will be up near Silverton and Ouray in July.  I told her it's not that bad.   Violent

I'm getting confused here.  I click on "reply" and it adds to my previous response and does not come up as a seperate response with a new block.  I did it once and did it the same way (I think) as before.  Now I am trying this quick response to see if this is how to do it.  Sorry about that.

That's one of the idiosyncrancies of this program.   If you were the last one to post, it tacks what you just submitted to what you posted previously.   But as long as you either use the quote button or indicate who or what you are responding to, it really isn't that hard to follow.

And just so you know, if someone manages post to the thread between your replies, it will look more like what you expected it to look like.

I got the Garrett AT Pro.  Also got the Garrett Propointer which seems to be a great thing.  Also got a Leshe digger thing and immediately cut open my index finger on my left hand while pushing it in with my right hand.  Damn that felt good.

Teach you're supposed to keep your non-pushy hand out of the way and all fingers behind the guard  Teach

good choice of detector, and while some of us don't like carrying around a pinpointer, the members that use find that model to be one of the best.
