My name is Larry and I'm from North Carolina. I bought my first detector in 1972, another new one in 2000 or so, a used dive detector in 2000. I look forward to some exciting finds as I try my hand at beach hunting!

Thanks for the Welcome, Gang.....!
My first find will be "Time to hunt!" I drive a truck OTR and time off is limited.  I've been trying to decide if I want to carry a cheap detector with me in my truck...just in case i get the chance...or take one of my older machines...Maybe I'll pick up a good deal on Craigslist..a decent used detector cheap enough that if it gets stolen out of my truck it won't break the bank!
Anyway, thanks, again, for making me feel welcome!

Larry,

  Welcome to the group. Aren't these people on here great. I'm new to this site as well, and can't get over how helpful everyone has been; and talk about a wealth of information. I was in NC earlier this year visiting a couple of gold mines and taking my first shot at prospecting. That is some beautiful countryside you've got there, I hope to return soon. Best of luck to you, and I hope you find more than you can carry! Watch out for that guy Homefire, if you're not careful; you'll learn something good.
