Just saying hello to everyone.I tell people not to laugh i have a cen-tec pinpointer and a 9 function harbor freagt metal detector.Thats all i can afford at the moment.Iam retired and have wanted to get into metal detecting for a long time.I don't think i will find the million dollar treasure chest but i do think i will have fun.I look at you tube vids and visit forums.Looking for tips/advice and info..Want to learn where i should look and how to dig..So iam a greenhorn at the moment.. Cheesy

Finally after about 15 minutes on the side of my house i found my first item this am.It was a 2011 penny.It was about 1/2 inch in the ground.Used the 9 function for that.Looking forward to tomorrow going out to my neighbors property in the woods thats 5 acres i have no doubt i should find stuff there..

5 acres is alot of ground . Look for very old trees in yard and don't forget sidewalk areas . Welcome

Welcome to the forum, JustDon, from the mountains of northeastern Oregon!   Welcome   Lots of good things have been found by equipment just like yours.  You just have to get out there and use it to learn what all the sounds mean.  Be sure to read your manual several times, too!     Detecting

My first dig.Could not go out to my friends property today.Got tied up with a small favor for my cousin.But went out in the woods about 2 miles from me and just started hunting.It took me about 30 minutes to find this stuff.They were all buried about 6 inches.So iam happy for the short time i had.But i got to say this is going to be fun..
