i have owned a metal detector for years but never had the chance to really use it i live in mass now moved here from maine could use some suggestions on places to go

Hi Massmiker, welcome to the site.   I can't help you with the Massachussetts sites, but I'm sure someone will be around shortly.  In the meantime, you might want to check on the USA board to see if there is anything listed fro Mass.

hey Massmilker,
I'm in Mass and would like to know of any places that you may know of I've only hit local areas and some underwater ponds and ocean have not found much but I havnt put that much time in. Hope to hear from ya soon good luck.

Look at old historic maps (many found online) and tie those properties into what is there now.  Ask the owners for permission and away you go!

Hello Katkat......you're in good company.   While we have a lot of techies who like to build or modify their detectors, we also have a lot of history buffs (I'm one....eat, sleep, and drink the stuff...at least that's how it seems most days).   We've got several good history discussions going on.   Several of them involve trying to separate fact from fiction when it comes to treasure legends.   
        If you can't find one that interest you, feel free to start a topic with a post of your own.   I'm sure several of us will join in.
