Hi, I'm a new member and I was looking for a Metal Detecting Club in Maryland.
I live in Northeast Baltimore County and since this is a new hobby for me, I thought a nearby club would help get me started in this activity.  If anyone knows of a club in my area I would really appreciate you letting me know.

I just stumbled across this club in your state... M.A.R.S. (MD Artifact Recovery Society) There is a woman who is president but I already forgot her name, sorry Im bad with names but remember faces better.

Sounds like Seldom and Williamsingr probably have you pointed in the right direction (and join a club IS a good move).   In the meantime, scour through the older posts on this site.   You'll definitely accelerate your learning if you read and apply what is here.
