Can anybody living on the South-Coast of South Africa tell me where to walk with the Metal Detector? PLEASE??? I am living in Hibberdene and bought a ACE 250 Sport to use as pensioner. We always need a little extra to fill the unforseen gaps! Any tips is very welcome!
Regards
and best whises to you all!

There are quite a few folks here from SA. Look for the thread dedicated to the art of hunting in South Africa. Look for users named Xavier, Peter Gill or Viking.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Welcome from Arizona.   GD gave you the scoop on who to talk to start with when it comes to detecting in South Africa.

Hi Sarel

They say look and thy shall find, there are no secrets to metal detecting you just have to find the right place to look and it could be right in your back yard, any and all stone build building are a place to look also old farm houses that's where you have a good chance of finding Kruger ponds and at up to R70.000 a piece they are well worth looking for, all the lead that you can find take it and place it in a drum, you'll be surprised at how much you can collect in one year this too goes for copper.  Any parking spot by the beach is a good place to look or if there are restaurants near by the beach then go look at the entrance. Showers on the beach are a must look also any public toilets look around them and then you have the entire beach to look for lost earnings and so on but pay special attention to where people swim then go there at low tide to hunt.

All the best and welcome to thunting.com
Xavier
