 Cheesy
first time postin, not sure if talking before you find is a good idea.
anybody know about Morocco, im from England and am working out here. i have my
DFX down on the beach when i can. im soo amateur but have found rings and pendants, 50 year old french coins! bullets!!
now started getting info from people and am going to buy a more specialist machine, i know dfx with BIG coil could go deep but i dont want to miss the DEEEEP buried stufffff!
im looking at the pi machines, narrowed it down to the detech machine from joan allen but the are out of stock till nov, or the lorenz deepmax x3, i like the thought of the data logger for a survey type of search.
a place ive been to had pieces of white quartz ? i think!, im guessing its quart, but quartz is quartz right. Huh?
so its v v mineralised most places ive been,  reading about the lorenz it should be ok, right?woww ,,  my dfx was going crazy but i still heard a coin few inches deep through all the noise, it was a moroccan coin with 1288 on it, arabic year! was well pleased for a half hour reccy of the site.
thx
all info appreciated, even the bad stuff as it can refocus your thinking.

Welcome aboard Joe! I bet there must be great things to be found in Maroco. Probably also many nice Roman relics. I have a Lorenz Deepmax and can recommend it. However the data logger is in my oppnion not usefull as it does not log the GPS coordinates.

You may also want to consider looking into a Minelap GP Extreme detector for hunting on the beaches etc. They are about the deepest seeking machines.

Regards,

CHristian

hi christian
wow the excitement of somebody replying was great, any help is sooooo much appreciated.
i did find a button on the beach and thought it was from jeans or shirt, forgot about it untill a detectin work colleague came over and i showed him all my finds and junk and he picked it out and said it maybe roman, i laughed but when he showed me it said alexander i had a double take. i will take a pic for you guys, it looks to basic or flat but i wouldnt know what a roman buton looks like,  i find the books too expensive to get,   i found one of those sonic cleaners at the bootfair for 1pound 50 a while back and stuck it in to give it a clean, unfortunately the crusty dirt on the loop was holdin it together a bit so it kind of fell apart, it looks as if it is plated with a silver coloured material with somethin inside.
gona check my laptop for pics and post them now.
paul

Indeed I think the chances of finding Roman relics are good in Maroco. There were no Roman buttons but it could be an old coin which good grinded down by the sand. Looking forward to seeing a picture!
