Hello to my fellow detectorist/treasure hunters.

My name is Ned,

I'm 48 years young and retired. I've been metal detecting and treasure hunting for about 23 years now. My favorite part of the hunt is actually the reasearch and study of history, but it sure doesn't hurt to dig up a nice find either.

I mostly use Tesoro and Whites detectors, but have had all the major brand names and models over the years. I enjoy both water hunting and land hunting, for relics, coins, jewelry, and military items.

I have a wonderfull wife Marige, and a 10 year old son David. Sometimes they like to join me on my hunts, and even pitch in for the dig sometimes.

I hunt mostly in Connecticut, USA and the Philippines, but will travel with my detector to almost anywhere my travels take me.

Two of my best finds to date, a near mint NYS Belt Plate, found in a long forgotten 1800's homestead, in Troy,NY.....

In the water, it was a mans very large 14k gold ring W/12 nice diamonds set in it, found in a local swimming hole, less than 5 miles from my home, in fresh water lake.

I hope to contribute to the site and hope to learn and enjoy many of you here and what your finding.
In two weeks, I'll be posting from the island of Cebu,Philippines.
