Hello My husband and I have just got our first detectors a Minelab Sovereign GT and a Pioneer 505.  We will be searching beaches, I have a question do you have to adjust your detector each time you turn it on or will the settings stay the same after you turn it off then turn it back on?  Thanks for any help

Welcome from New Mexico!

Some detectors or turn on and run.

I think both of yours require Ground Balancing.

You should readjust every time as required.

Welcome from a country that is surrounded by beaches!

Most detectors will save their last settings. As Homefire says, an adjustment to ground balance should always be done.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hey baadventure.......welcome to the great adventure....and fortunately ground balancing is nearly as difficult as it sounds with most detectors.
