We just thawed out the other day.
The Well Head Froze, I was freaking out because if the pump had tried to run against the Ice plug it would have Toasted the Pump.. $700.00 I don't have.
No Water in the House with all pipes frozen for 4 days.
Inspecting the well the Relay was in the off position. The Tank was Empty.
Poured some warm water on the drain Valve to see if I could get things moving.
The tank had shut off the Pressure Switch because some how Pressurized air had made it past the Ice Block.
Opened up the Drain Valve and No Water just 40lbs of air.
Close Call for sure.
After the Thaw, Got well working took another day for the house to Thaw.
I have NO IDEA how but no pipes did the Dead Bug. Woooo HOOOO!
All schools closed due to broken pipes.
Drove by the DO IT BEST hardware store and normally there are about 5-7 cars there.
People were parked out on the Road as both of there parking lots were full!
I Got supper Luck on this on.
Only problems I have is the Pressure Gauge on the Well died and Leaking water most Well, Ha get it Most Well??
Oh Well, (There I go again) Things could have been a whole bunch worse.
Now all I need to do is fix the Water Pump on the Van that Froze and Cracked.
It got down to -7 over a two day period.
Last time I seen it any place this cold was back in 1990.
