Hi, new to all this just bought my first detector, went to my first meeting to join a club on 19/5/2011, live in bolton not been out yet (when l find somewhere to go)can't wait, might try a beach.

     Welcome from Arizona.   So what type of detector did you buy?    You have definitely taken all the right first steps for a successful hobby: joining a club (hope you find someone there who can be your mentor) and signing up here.  You'll find a lot of good tips in our boards.  So start reading and asking questions.

Hi,
    l was on a family outing to coventry, rang mike longfield? met him at his house ,asked about detectors(but l had set my sights on a xp deus) and he said they where finding the most stuff at his club, so that was it a deus. have'nt used it yet, bought it for my retirement, about 6 weeks off, have more time then, can't wait,
