Go Up Go Down

Hi,from a new member i am in Adelaide,South Australia. This is my first post,my father who is 85 and suffering early onset alzheimers/parkinsons owns a "goldseekers 3d 9000" I would like to take him out looking for(gold preferably) but have not personally used a detector before.I believe there is a link to download the owners manual somewhere but i couldn't find it under "whites".I also have a mate "jason" who has a 'compass yukon 99b' who is also looking to download the owners manual..To the earlier person in Aus. with the goldseekers, which state are you in?     your reply=1 post.
Moker777,what info (if any) do you have on 'goldseekers 3d 9000'? Am trying to get hold of user manual at the moment.Just messing around with it i've already found the brass casing of a shotgun shell so i know it can find better. If i find the owners manual i will forward it on to you but i'm not a 'dab hand' on the computerer(!) so may take a while.(e-mail a photo as an attachment ok,but post photo's via u-tube? NOT. cheers mate,mark59.

Welcome aboard, Mark, from the Perth side of the continent. I split your post from the original thread so you could introduce yourself properly and perhaps get a better reply to your need for information on your detector and its use.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

The word Fossicking is an Australian slang term. What you are really purchasing is a mining license. Every state varies but in Western Australia a mining permit costs $25.00AU and is a lifetime permit. Then, each type of place you hunt, pastoral land, crown land or private land, require a specific permit to use the property. Pastoral land and crown land require permits from the caretakers of the land - usually governments. Private land requires first a permission from the land owner and then a permit from the government entity which controls the land taxes (taxes on property is called rates here in Australia).

This isn't any stranger than the US laws which allow for someone to own the mining and mineral rights to your property. You can own thousands of acres in America and someone else can own the mineral rights allowing them to dig huge pits in your land and take the minerals away without requiring permission from you to do it.
