Hey guys, my wife bought me a pretty nice metal detector several months back with my prodding, and i have not used it once.  You would think with all the open desert here in Arizona it would be well worn by now.  I just finshished watching a documentary on Jesse James and   his lost treasure, so I think the next time I take my guns out to go shooting I will dust off the metal detector and see what I can find.  Cheers to all.

Random poking in the desert is fun but you'd be better rewarded to locate an old ranch or prospector's shack.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Jayd,
I was thinking about going out to the beach when it cools off a bit, after all the beachgoers have left.
If you'd like to consider it,  let me know

Hi Jay,

I'm located in Glendale, Arizona just a few blocks from Glendale Community College.

Welcome aboard.    Besides this board, there are a couple of pretty good metal detector clubs in Arizona.  Depending upon where you're at, you might want to check one of them out.   The one I'm in has one meeting a month and monthly outings the following weekend.
