Go Up Go Down

Greetings,  I am twice retired, U.S. Navy and Fedex.  Moved to Chambersburg PA August 2008 to be closer to family and grandchildren.  Just started MDing last year am very new at it.  I love doing research online and have gathered hours worth of history for my surrounding areas.  Am developing google earth historic topo map overlays and trying to visualize the way these local areas looked.  Have done some playground coin hunting but nothing much else.  Will have to start asking people for their permission to walk their property.  Sure would like to hook up with some folks in immediate area!!!  Dave

Hi Dave! I think you're off to a good start with your research and working to visualize areas as they were in the past. PA is so filled with history that I'm sure you'll make some nice finds. Playgrounds, parks, your own yard are great for gaining experience with your detector. I'm not in your area, but other members on here might be. Welcome aboard! Sue

Welcome   Welcome, Dave.    Try the Fort Louden area.  There's a lot of history there.

 Welcome Dave,

For a retired personnel, I would advise that treasure hunting is the best option to do time pass and earn wealth too. It will keep you busy until you stop it. It dosen't cost mountains. Only to gain Nothing to loose. Wink
