Hello All,

Just registered on the site and looking at getting into treasure hunting in western Idaho. I have done some metal detecting, rock hounding, bottle digging and relic hunting in the past. So I guess I am looking at getting back into treasure hunting. I am new to Idaho so not to familiar with the area. Any suggestions for areas, hunting tips and ideas would be apprecieated. Nice to meet everyone.

I don't currently have a metal detector, but I may be looking into getting one. Need to do some research affordability versus quality and such.

Welcome from Arizona. You'll find a lot of what you are looking for in our past posts, including questions to ask when deciding on a detector (although you seem to have a pretty good handle on that one).

Thanks for the advice. I have been looking through some of the old posts, and will continue to do so. I have also started started searching online for local stories and have checked out quite a few books on ghost towns and such in the Idaho area. Looking forward to doing some research and planning a couple of trips for this summer.
