Hello all.  Also new guy - joined after looking for info on Caballo Treasure.  Familiar with Ladrone Peak as I grew up in Socorro.  Now in Silver City - near to you in Deming, homefire.  Always prospecting, detecting, researching for just about any kind of adventure in the SW.

I do some panning up in the P.A. area from time to time.

My Buddie just found a 1/2 gram Nuggy up there a few weeks ago.

Not many nuggets up there.

We'll have to get together.  PA is good - mostly small stuff.  I'll show you some better spots if you show me yours!  I've found nothing detecting there so far, but pickers occasionally.  Lots of old ghost towns and stuff available in our area too.  You ever check out the Butterfield Stage route?  Not too many published stories but plenty of Apache raids documented and lots of places that could be good hunting right in your back yard.

Or Ft. Cummings, Ft. West.  Stories about loot taken off the RR near Aquila Flats, Pyramid Mts. near Lordsburg.  Not too many years ago, a cache of 30 yellow boy rifles was found in a cave near Steins at the AZ/NM border.

Was up at Caballo a few weeks ago. No trespassing signs everywhere. But the east side of the Rio looked good. But was told by an older resident they will shoot you and the mountains are full of rattlesnakes. Lots of working claims up there. Found some ruins and old church, well and cemetery. Nothing but tin on the ruins, and trash in the Rio. Wasn't looking for gold, but would have been a good day for it. Im outside of Las Cruces, welcome.
