Hello, I am new to this site and forum.  I live in Palm Harbor, FL USA and will get my Garrett Sea Hunter II detector tomorrow.  Looking forward to hitting the beaches as well as snorkeling the sandbars with it.

Welcome aboard!

Furthermore good luck hunting with your Sea Hunter II. It is a pretty nice machine! I'm sure it will get you some good finds. Just always make sure that you don't get sand into any of its seals or it might leak. It is best to keep them smooth applying some good oil / silicon oil to them.

By the way, there are some good artciles on Beach and Shallow Water hunting on THunting.com. They are written by Alan Hassell who has found lots and lots of excellent stuff in the surf and on the beaches.

Best wishes and good luck hunting,

Christian

Thanks. I have been reading them this afternoon and they are good. I have had the detector for 6 months but never got a chance to use it due to working in Asia. I brought it with me but it attracted too much attention and I never got anything done or found due to the kids around, etc.  Looking forward to some huntingnhre in Florida.  Will pay special attention to the water seals.  Thanks!

The water seals are the vital point of any UW machine. In my oppinion there should be as few seals as possible. E.g. the Minelab Excalibur is tricky with that many seals ...

Looking forward to seeing some of your finds

Wink
