Hi everyone, Peter is my name and I live in Lucena City, Quezon province. We have some property we purchased close to Lucban. The story is that the Japanese were encamped on our property during WWII. I have visually surveyed the property and have surmised that it would have been a fine place to have an encampment as there is an outstanding viewpoint with a lookout that spreads from the road into Quezon National Forest all the way to Lucena boundry with a fantastic view of Tayabas Bay. The property has a nice "bowl" below the viewpoint with two fresh water springs at the base of the bowl. This area is concealed from view from above.

The story from the locals is that the Japanese occupied the property because of the water and the vantage point. There is also a story of a Japanese war plane crash either on the property or close to it. One local has offered to take me there but I declined because he just seemed a bit unsure about what was at the site. Several people have told me that there are tunnels on the property close to the springs. Not real sure about this as the water table, even at the top portion of the land is not far from the surface soil. As usual, a "Seer" or fortune teller visited us (a friend of my sister in law) and stated that there are "signs" that indicate treasure, although I was never able to discern exactly where the entrance was from his description.
I did find a 1939 coin under a rock at the springs and was quite happy with my find.

I am a skeptic when it comes to treasure as I watched a Filipino friend of mine ruin his life by "dreaming" there was buried treasure under the house (he was RENTING) in Marikina. This belief was bolstered by the fact that he had fortune tellers tell him to keep digging. He got to about 25 ft, which took about a year, lot's of pumping and certain danger to the life of the guy digging as the hole collapsed several times and was shored up in a shoddy fashion. He eventually moved without finding anything. We parted ways at that time.
I am interested in learning more about Japanese troop location in Quezon province during WWII. Just to get an idea where these guys were. There is not much info on the web and I have been thinking of going into Lucban and meeting some elders whom are still living, just to get an idea. I can't afford ground detecting radar or any other sophisticated equipment and neither am I going to look for anything without viable evidence. Let me know what you think ok? Peace

Greetings and  Welcome from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon!  Sounds like a great piece of property you have.
Good luck with finding out the history of the Japanese occupation there, and hope you make some great finds!  Detecting

frankyzee, welcome from Arizona.    Your right to be skeptical about any hidden treasure they tell you is hidden on your property.   On the other hand, you have an excellent chance of finding "treasures" of a more historic and sentimental value.

Your analysis is very practical and realistic. You will most likely find WWII artifacts - probably from both sides. You have not been brought up in the subculture of beliefs in the Yamashita treasure so it is unlikely you will suffer the same fate as your former friend.

Welcome to these forums. There is plenty of treasure out there to be found. Mostly they are single items but they do add up. Good luck!
