Check out White's or Garrett products. In florida, you can't detect "underwater" but you can detect "in" the water. One detector will do both very nicely. Check the Whites DFX or the SurfMaster. It's waterproof and will work in the water and one the beach and in the parks. The DFX will work all those places too, but you don't want to get the box wet.
