Famous Trails- MD-3005
« on: March 30, 2011, 02:01:11 pm »
Go Up Go Down

Hello to all... I would love to share experiances & pics of my starting in the field of MD. I love to gain knowledge and love to share as well. I recently bought an old piece of property and found huge amounts of items from the past. Guess way back when , they used a back yard as a dumping site. Who know's what's buried here ? Lots of unwanted items to clean up. Glass & more glass. Not to mention anything else that fits older houshold goods. I have a passed down MD ( Famous Trails with 3 knobs - volume-tone-discrimination ) takes 6 AA batteries. Of course with no handbook. So it's all guess work as of this moment. Getting to understand it more as time goes on. Or as time permits. I'm super interested in the field of using a camera to find Aurora's for detecting things buried. I love coins and anything unique. I'm interested in finding out the history of such finds also. Well...that be me in a nut shell.....I hope I get to know where to post what topics & how...so things don't get confusing for me and use's . Pretty new to online forumes and such...just wasn't my game until now...Thanks much for taking the time to help in any way. Much thanks to those who moderate & started this site as well....Great Job !!

PS: Will get some pics on board when I find the right place...is there a personal photo album for each member here ?
Thank you kindly.. : )

Not sure if this continues on the reply from homefire ?? tag on back says model MD- 3005 ?? sound correct ? takes 6 AA batteries. I have played around with the knobs....tone & discrimination..... Does it help when ground is warm ?? I live in upstate NY...still have 3 foot snow banks in spots. Ground was frozen down 3 inches. Thanks much for the reply & help.

Ya just have to remember that some of those flat spots out in the middle of NO Ware was some place a few million years ago.

I can show you places there was Mountains that are no more.

I can show you Raging Rivers that haven't had water in them for 20 million years.  LOL!

Yep, ya can find gold in some most unlikely looking places.

Where I live here in New Mexico, my property is all sand dunes.   Nearest mtn is 20 miles away.

All that sand came from the River that is no more and guess what?

If I turn a ton of it in my sluice, I find about a gram of gold.  Not enough to pay, but it's there.
