Hi everyone, I am knew to all of this, I use a JW fisher 8x right now, and am looking to upgrade to a aquapulse possibly (not sure of this yet). I am also very interested in learning how to construct my own towable magnetometer, so any advice would be very appreciated.

Hi, zombie.   Welcome from Arizona.   If you are interested in constructing your own towable magnetometer, go to the message boards page and scroll down to our Tech Talk pages.  You'll find plenty of people working on such projects.
