Go Up Go Down

Hi:
Just getting gold fever. I have build my own gradient magnetometer( not a metal detector). It uses a Parallax Propeller microcontroller and two FM-3 sensors. Using a calbration coil, its error was 2% (the error of a DVM is 3%). I am now writting the final program. I am thinking about using a 32-second moving boxcar avarage to smooth the readings. Is this to much, or should I go for 16 or 8 seconds? Or is this not enought, and I should use 64 second? Any thoughts?

Hi, Bill.  Welcome to THunting.com.   We've got people that can give you advice on that.  I'd suggest going to our home page and then scrolling down to the Tech Talk boards and posting your question there.  I'm pretty sure it will catch the eye of one of our tech wizs.
