i just joined this site and look forward to learning from some of the veterans and also sharing my experience.  I've been metal detecting on and off since 1979.  After two knee replacements during the past two years, I'm glad to be able to get out of the house again and enjoy this wonderful hobby.

I love to detect the Florida beaches and looking for a hunting partner.  I just got back from a one day trip to Jacksonville Beach and will post my fines during my next post.

Welcome from the North Georgia mountains.  Do you know a fellow in Dothan named Bob Wheat?  He was one of my best friends back in college but we lost touch with each other about ten years ago.  I've spent some time kicking around in Dothan with Bobby.  Couldn't stand the heat and humidity.  Too much like being at the beach, but no water to get in to cool off.
