Hi!
I am a newbie to treasure hunting. I live in Mauritius, a small Island in the Indian Ocean, off the east coast of Madagascar. This island has been visited long ago by pirates and corsairs and it would seem that there are some burried treasures here. I am out to find them. Firstly could someone make a suggestion about which gold detector to purchase.
Regards.
R A Carim Bacor

Thank you for your response. To start with I like prospecting for coins in wet and dry sand, i.e., on the sea shore.

Hello, rbacor.   Welcome from Arizona.

Have you tried using our search function at the top right of the page or looked in our Beach and Shallow Water board for ideas and suggestions?
Living in the desert, I don't get to hunt beaches often, so we've got other members (such as Seldom) who can give you more complete advice.   I'd suggest you look at the Minelab Excaliburs and the Pulse Induction detectors by Garrets,  Whites, and JW Fisher.   That will at least give you a starting point and a set of benchmarks.
