Hello everyone,
I am located in Halifax NS, a perfect location for someone with my interests.
I am an electrical engineer who retired from the Canadian Navy after 24 years of service.
I now peruse history, archaeology, and exploration with a focus on Portuguese nautical activities from 1440 to the 1580s. I seek evidence of pre-Champlain European visits along the shores of NS.
I have found what I think to be a third era Padrao, an actual Portuguese land claim marker right here in NS. The size, shape, and notch (or receptacle for an iron cross) indicates all of the hallmarks as being such. Treasure comes in many forms besides silver and gold.
I am capable to use an array of modern testing technologies and competent enough to interpreting basic results. I once specialized at geo-rectifying aerial photos for overlay onto digital elevation maps, for the purpose of generating 3D images. I enjoy aerial photo work and researching even the most obscure references.
I own a Garrett Master Hunter CX Plus with the optional depth multiplier. I swear it is the best device to find hand forged wrought iron nails, perhaps if I turn the discriminator to gold it will find me golden nails?
I would like to hear from anyone with similar interests, especially anyone possessing archaeological drawing of sunken Portuguese ships.
Cheers and happy hunting
