Hello Mark and welcome to the Thunting forum.  Where abouts in Ohio are you located?

I have seen many people make some very nice finds with bounty hunters and for the price it would be a small price to pay to see how well you like the hobby.  If you want to stick with it and upgrade to a different unit later then you could do that at that point.

Hey Mark welcome to the best site on the net for MD, a friend of mine has a Bounty Hunter and he does real well with it. Set up a test garden in your yard and learn what the machine is telling you. Thats the best advice i can give.... Good Luck with it.....DW

Detecting   That's not a bad price for a relatively unused detector. The Bounty Hunters are okay and you will make finds. If you find that you really enjoy detecting and really want to get serious about it, then you may want to consider upgrading to a more complex and sensitive detector. You'll find plenty of help on this site from all the experienced
members here. Best wishes to you......John in Va.. Welcome

Hello and welcome to the forums!! Hope that you find all that you need and enjoy your time here!!

As previously said, you will have to first confirm your addiction to the hobby, and that you are willing to stick with it.  With that done, then you move on to learning your detector.  Once past that stage, proceed with a more sophisticated detector.

Really, it is more personal preference than anything.

Good luck!!

Mark

I know the area there a bit.  I'm on the other side of the state but was through there last year for the DFXonly hunt that was held near Dover.  There are a lot of very friendly and helpful people on the forum here and I am always willing to try and help when I can as well.  If you have any questions just ask and also feel free to message me anytime.

You can find stuff with quickdraw 2, but when you get chance-switch to a Tesoro or some other little better type unit-those Tesoros are relatively inexpensive, but man they've got some serious treasure finding ability-even in real trashy areas which they're known for-----good luck on your hunting Great
