Hi all,
I'm looking into purchasing metal detectors for myself and my six year old son. As a result, am here to learn as much as I can. Hope to get involved real soon.

Hi, David.
   We're glad to have both you and your son here.
   If you haven't settled on a detector yet, you can use our search functionality at the top of the page to search "best detector". I would definitely include the Tesoros among the detectors I looked at...especially for your son. They're very well built and very easy to use (one or two knobs depending upon the model), but are still quality machines that will serve well for years. (as will the other brands/models that you'll find listed in earlier posts.
   If you have any questions you can't find the answer to, just open a topic---or if you want clarification on something, just ask...someone will have an answer or will at least be able to point you in the right direction.
