Go Up Go Down

Hello - I am a new member to this site.  Found it by doing a search for metal detector schematics.  I plan on building my own and was looking for a starting point.  I am a retired controls systems engineer and heavliy dabble in electronics, especially ones that are microcontroller based.  Primarily use those by Microchip on a Mikroelektonika develpoment platform.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Doug,
Welcome to THunting........you're going to find a lot of people here that speak your language and point you in the right direction.   Seldom and I are both willing to speak Texan with you (even though I live in AZ now), but we'll leave the technical talk to Cornelius, Xavier and some of the others who will probably be along shortly.
Once you get your detector built, though, I'd sure like to see pictures of it and of anything you find with it.

Thanks for the welcome Seldom.  I am in Pearland, TX. just up the road from you.  Just new to this, got the idea from a TV show called 'Meteor Men', two guys who hunt for meteors, one a collector and the other who sells them - big bucks if you know what you are looking for.
Take Care
Thanks for the welcome.  Looks like this will be an interesting forum.  Per the news looks like things in AZ have been pretty rough weather wise, hope you are O-K.
Take Care.

Doug,
Thanks for asking.....I'm high and dry.   I leave the flooding to Seldom and to my brother in Houston (although my Dad in Llano tells me Canyon Lake and the rest of the Hill Country reservoirs are filling up pretty good).
We needed the rain here.  Our drought has gone on longer than Texas' .  Of course there are a whole lot of people who would have been happier if we hadn't got all the rain at one time.   (even better news than the rain is we got a lot of snow in the high country).   I feel sorry for the people who suffered flood damage.  On the other hand, I know that we not only needed the rain agriculturally, but I also know it's going to wash out some nice nuggets and maybe even expose a few more meteorites.

Looking forward to reading lots of posts from you.
