Hello to everyone. I am very happy to be a new member of this metal detecting community. I am a returnee to metal detecting. I was active in the hobby when I was a younger man but let go of it for a number of years. I think the obligations of family and career became my focus. But I still have my White's Coinmaster from the 70's. I remained very interested over the years and always knew I stopped an activity I loved. Unfortunately, physical problems prevented me from getting back to it when I got older but thanks to joint replacements, I'm back and am really excited waiting for our New York winter to leave. I live in a small town just a few miles south of Utica, in Central New York. I have spent the snowy months reading old and new metal detecting and treasure hunting books, magazines and researching hunting sites around the area. My wife and I will be taking a cruise in April to the Caribbean and I intend to pack my AT Pro and sand scoop. I will let you know how it works out.

Nothing Wrong with that machine.

Any Detector is better then none.

The AT is a formidable machine.

Welcome from NM. Cool

Hello, and Welcome from Utah!

My wife is from the up-state catskills area. I love that part because you practically have to cut down
trees in your property just to put up a house! However, the sticky/sweaty August days are really unbearable at times. It sounds like you're going to have a good time with that AT Pro on your trip to the Carribean.
Not sure about the local laws down there? Does anyone want to chime in on that aspect - perhaps help him out with that?
