Hey Everyone...looks like a nice place to spend a bit of time researching my finds!  Living in the mountains of WNC...I run into Spanish and Indian relics and symbols.

Latest today was a 1/2 human siloutte.  Anyone have any ideas?? Found 15' from a major river and between 2 creeks, was in a depresion next to River Cane. The one creek was known to be mined in the Civil War era and in the 1970's.  This is about 1/2 mile from a 100' waterfall that "supposely" Hernando Desoto enslaved the Indians to mine Gold....also this is about 7 miles from the infamous Peach Tree Mound.  Thoughts??  Thanks!  Doc Grin

Thanks for replying....the local lore basically confirms the Spanich explorers came through.  With the Spanish relics from the Peachtree Mound site, to a handful of diaries....puts the Spanish in the area in the early 1500's.  I have read a handful of books with stories from this area that confirms this as well.

The Valley River was the #1 gold producing river up to the Gold Rush of 1849 in CA....this is where I found this particular 175lb stone that has the siloutte of a man.  The head has been stone ground flat with another stone (or so it seems).

Will take a few shots and post....Thanks! Doc Shocked

Here are a few pics...top real flat...was found upright...but these pics are from home as I winched it up on a trailer.  Area ACROSS from where marker was is unusual.... two creeks V out to the river and is very flat for WNC.  Trail tree on property as well, pointing to ground and the opposite creek.  Alot of out of place rocks on this property.  No other rocks found with this marker or no other marks on rock.  Thanks! Doc Idiot

I am not seeing anything but a natural stone, and if it was a marker are sign it is of no use now that you moved it.

That looks like a Native American grinding stone where seeds were ground to a paste inside the hole for cooking. Not treasure sign for certain but most probably an artifact of note.

Next to the hole, it looks like a fire was started, swept away after it heated up, and the paste was cooked. You found some ancient cookware, mate.
