Looking to tow a underwater detector for salvage operation. But It will need to be on a tight buget. CAN a metal detector be home built in a pvc tube for underwater towing?
Thanks for the info.
CaptainTom

Tom it is quite possible . By dragging a PI metal detector behind my boat I detected my wreck at Cedar Keys  ( Fl)  . I used a square yard coil . The detecting unit  stayd on board . When I heard a loud  ping I stopped and looked for the reason . And there I discovered three cannon . The rest I better keep for myself .  Cornelius

 Welcome

Hi CaptainTom,

Sounds like an interesting project. I've thought about something similar just for fun - attaching a detector to a remote controlled mini submarine for exploring a lagoon.

Keep us posted on your progress.
