 Hello Steve here from SoCal....I'm glad I found this site . I use a Whites MXT and am having somewhat of a hard time using it ( becuz I'm new at it ) might someone explain what trashy areas are ? and what setting are best Detecting

Welcome Steve - I lived in LA for a year - wish I'd have been into detecting then. Can't help you with that White, but I'm sure others can. Anyway, welcome aboard and hang in there with that detector! Hope to see or read about some nice finds soon. Sue

Hi Steve, Welcome to THunting.com.
       Trashy areas are any area you are detecting that contains a lot of junk like nails, pull taps, beer caps, piece of tin or aluminum cans, baling wire, etc, etc, etc.     This produce a lot of signals which you have to dig so you can remove the trash to see if there might be anything worth keeping under the trash.
