THANKS SUE.
I HAVE SEEN THIS SITE I ALSO FOUND A SITE CALLED METEORITE DATA. IT ACTUALLY TELLS WHERE METEORITES HAVE BEEN PICKED UP, AND HAD AN ANALYSIS DONE ON THEM. IN NORTHERN NEVADA THEY HAVE THE DIAMOND VALLEY METEORITE WHICH IS JUST 40 MILES FROM MY HOUSE. IT IS ALSO THE LOCATION THAT THE METEORITE MEN FOUND SOME ON THERE LAST EPISODE. YOU COULD TELL BY THEIR GOOGLE EARTH MAPS. BUT THAT LAKE WILL NOT BE DRIED UP ENOUGH TO WALK ON TILL ABOUT JUNE. THANKS FOR THE REPLY

Hey Trapperman, welcome to THunting.com   There is plenty of information to be had here, and with your experiences, I'm sure there is plenty of questions others have that you can answer.

One thing you might want to do is turn of the caps lock on your computer.   Unfortunately reading computer posts like this isn't quite like carrying on a conversation.   It is a little harder to tell when someone is pulling your leg or getting angry, so dropping a few hints in your writing helps.   One of the hints is to use all caps when you're emphasizing something or YELLING at someone.   We know your not doing that here, but it would help in the future.

Then from the standpoint of soaking up knowledge quickly, if you have specific topics you are interested in, try using the Advanced Search option at the top of the page (be sure to select "search entire forum").  Or you can just scan through the boards and sub-boards that interest you.    And if you still can't find the answer, ask---you'll probably  get lots of answers.

Glad you are here.

BA in AZ, I came across a post explaining the various ways to reply. I'm new and don't understand the differences in the reply button at the top and the reply buttons on each individual post. Is there any?, also how does the instant reply field at the bottom differ from the other reply buttons. If you understand this please explain. i've tried them all but still don't get it. gambol

Gambol, I'm still learning my way around some of the features here, but I think the reply button in the message and the reply buttons at the top and bottom are pretty much the same and give you the same options.   So it is pretty much down to which one are you more comfortable using.   The only one that is different is the "quick reply" box at the bottom.   Using the quick reply limits you two the one font in the default color and limits you to just the smileys in the box.  (In other words quick reply won't let me do the style changes I've done in this post or anything else to make the post "special").   Quick Reply also does not allow you to add attachments.

Hope that helps.   If not I'm sure someone with more experience than either of us will be along soon with a better explanation.

Darn I'm either going to have to slow down typing or get a spell check that knows what I'm thinking.....I meant "using quick reply limits you to the one font" NOT "using quick reply limits you two the one font"

You're welcome......AND I just learned a new trick.  If you use Quick Reply and then select "Preview" instead of post, it will bring up your message in a normal reply window ---which means you can add atachments, etc.

Thanks BA in AZ. Thanks for the advice. Hate to say this, but I put the caps lock on because it is easier for me to see what I print. I do have reading glasses just don't like wearing them much. I will do better in the future. I love this site I have had a lot of questions and I have had all them answered by reading posts in the forum. thanks again for the advice.  Dan F
