Hello all.  New to group and MD - looking forward to making walks on beach even better.  Split my time between LI NY and West coast FL.  HAve been interested in the hobby for some time, decided to get started - will need and appreciate recommendations re: 1st MD to purchase and hunting tips.  I plan to search mostly in/on the sandy salt water beaches around LI, and near Sanibel Island in Florida.  Glad to find a forum of detectorists who enjoy their hobby.

Welcome from New Mexico! 

Sounds like your wanting a Water Tight Machine.

Look into the Relatively New VLF Garrett AT Machines.

Tesoro has a Kick but machine for the water and surf too.

Tesoro has both the PI and VLF that would do the job most well.

Whites is good in the PI machines for beaches.
