Hello. I just purchased my first metal detector this past weekend. I was looking for something my son and I could do together. After looking around and reading more about metal detecting, it looked like something we both would enjoy. I purchased a White's Coinmaster. It seems like it's going to be a very good detetctor. I would gladly accept any advice for a beginner. We are headed down to Panama City Beach in a couple of days and we are taking the Coinmaster with us. Hopefully we'll get lucky and find a few good items. Thanks.

Howdy....first advice is read the previous postings in the Beginners board and in the Beach and shallow water board  Wink     Second piece of advice is never let yourself become discouraged....if you start to get discouraged either stop for a while and take a break doing something else you like out doors, or concentrate on working on a technique or skill.
