Go Up Go Down

I have been watching the Travel Channel and love the shows on gold prospecting, mineral hunting (precious gems) and fossil finds.
My family is preparing for vacation in Navarre FL for 1 week in a Beach House on the beach.
I was thinking of fun things to do so I bought a cheap metal detector and tried it out in my back yard. I found several old 1960 coins and lost of metal trash.

I went to Galveston TX and tried it out on the beach and found a lot of trash and a couple of new pennies.  I was hooked.

So I started researching where and when to metal detect and bought a new 1000.00 metal detector and SS scoop.  I am still waiting for it to come in.  I meet a guy on the beach in Galveston who was metal detecting too.  He showed me his finds of the week. He had several gold rings and a large gold nugget pendant on a large chain with lots of diamonds in it and told me he found that on the beach too.  He was using the Excalibur II said it cost 1200.00  and was using a special scoop.

I also have a very good friend who is searching for old buried Spanish gold.. He has been researching for years and I only get the minor details.

I started studying and love history and searching for treasure.   This is the hobby for me.

Will update with any future finds.

Thanks for this site.

There should be a lot of good beach left at Navarre but i'm sure they are gearing up for the oil spill that i'm sure you've read about. I have never hunted Navarre but where people have been usually there is some kind of treasure, Good Luck!
