hi, my name is josh and i am new to this site and was wondering if there are any other members from my home town of spokane washington.  i've been looking for some local areas to Detecting, but have recently found out that our public parks have rules against digging holes.  I don't know if this rule is strictly enforced, or if I could get in trouble for turning over "grass plugs" to do my searching?  anybody else from spokane out there?

Welcome from Australia, Josh. I doubt that there is a park in the world that "allows" digging holes. Speak with the groundskeepers and find out the rule in practice. Explain that you also remove the dangerous, sharp objects that you find, which is a public service.

I'm not sure whether it was GoldDigger in an earlier post or another member, but somewhere in our posts there is a suggestion that you carry some pictures of the dangerous, sharp objects that you've recovered.   It also helps if people see you properly dispose of the trash and dangerous items you find (just don't show them the good stuff unless you're required to as part of the permit process)
