Hello and welcome. There are some really good and smart people here. The boards hold a lot of information. I live down in southern New Mexico, and do the parks, dirt and gravel parking lots, and private property with permission. There are some places you are not allowed to detect. Federal and BLM lands could get you in trouble. State Parks are up to the ranger. Your own backyard will surprise you also. I like the Meteorite Men, and have found links to where they have been found before. Google maps is my best friend, I have it on my cell phone. Lots of history here in New Mexico, pick your poison and have fun.

Thank you. I too love Meterorite Men.  That has really peaked my interest.  Of course, we don't have the resources to travel too much but what better place to start than New Mexico!  I am up north in Rio Rancho and my bf does a lot of arrowhead hunting. I want to find a meteorite! lol  Thanks again for the welcome.  Saw your pics on your recent find. Pretty cool whether or not they turn out to be what you are looking for.

Hello, Tanya.   Welcome to THunting.com.   Hate to date myself, but I remember when there was almost NOTHING on that side of the river except some line shacks.     Lots of lost treasure tales in the Albuquerque area and plenty of places to detect (as long as you keep your land ownerships straight)
