White's QXT Pro- Sun Ray XL-1 Probe - BH Pinpointer (modified)

Hi all:

I am new to the forum, but not to metal detecting. I have been beeping for 5 years now in Upstate NY (Syracuse). My first machines were Bounty Hunters (Pioneer 202, 505, Land Star), then I went into the White's lineup with the Classic II-SL. I still use the Classic II-SL (modified for threshold and manual ground balance), and the Land Star. I use the Clasic II more than the BH. I find that if I do not have a readout, that I dig better stuff, because I dig ALL good signals. My best finds so far are a 10K ring with rubies, another 10K gold band, an 18K white and yellow gold band, 1900o Barber Dime, 1923 Morgan Dollar...I plan on hitting one of our local beaches this year, and hope to up my gold count. May be moving to California later this year, and would like any info anyone can give on starting gold prospecting with metal detectors...

Sounds like you have allready made some very nice finds! Maybe moving to California you can add some gold nuggest to your finds, too!
