Hello all my name is Brian,I live in Maine but I am working in MA, I am not new to detecting but new to land detecting all my time has been spent underwater I started with an aquascan and then moved into a Minelabs Excalibur 1000, I understand works as well on land as it does in water, I actually work in the field of shipwreck recovery I am a chief Engineer on a research ship. I am looking forward to reading and seeing all of your finds

hiya ,was very interested in your job as i spent 25 years at sea.went to sea on deepsea trawlers at 15 years old north sea and distant waters,dragged up loads of old stuff mainly from ww2,was to young and dumb to be interested at the time.

hello, bvr.....welcome from arid Arizona.   You're right about the minelab Excalibur being a good land machine.  A lot of the members of my local club use them because once you get used to them they're pretty good at detecting nuggets as well as coins and relics.
