Hi everyone, now i have just turned 40 (and life is supposed to start at 40) i thought after a number of years thinking and reading about the hobby that this was for me..... i wish i had started years ago! i live in Cumbria(the lake district) in the UK which was the major stronghold for the romans while trying to defeat the scots, Hadrians wall as well as numerous forts camps and ports and not forgetting our great past in the medieval times, i look forward to hopefully showing some of my finds and trying to gain some knowledge from you guys.

Great area to live Cheesy Lots of history and things waiting for you to find them!
I know you will enjoy this hobby, the relaxation fo being outdoors, the silence as you swing your detector...waiting for that beep, its great!

I know what you mean about starting earlier.  I've been into the hobby for quite some time now but was kind of off and on for awhile.  Been real serious about it for about the last 7 yrs or so and wish I had started when I was 7 or so. Grin
