Hello Inspectorted.     Welcome to the hobby and the forum.  I'm not one of the them (can't follow a schematic to save my life), but we have several members who have built one or more metal detectors.  A few of our members seem to have built just about any kind you might want.......so if it's advice on building metal detectors, you'll find the people with the experience here.   If it's advice on any other aspect of treasure hunting, you'll find those people here to.   And if you want to hang out with a bunch of good people and share in each others successes, you'll find room for yourself here doing that to.

Welcome to our forum! DIY Detectors can be outsatnding but it will require time and expirience to build them. You can find quite a few god projects on this site.

best wishes,

Christian

Great Howdy there, inspectorted, welcome to site and hobby. I've helped put a few detector coils and such together but not the whole units...but it would be neat, wouldn't it? We poured epoxy in coil shells and used Goop to water proof the headphones and control boxes. Goop is the best waterproofing stuff around. Dries pliant and rubbery-not hard and brittle. Good detecting to you! Detecting
