In setting this up for the boys my main focus is on the "fun" of it. You are absolutly correct that cubs have a much shorter attention span, but I figure by spreading it out over the summer break and doing several different aspects of hunting it should keep them engaged. I do plan on seeding the Geocache for them, in fact it will be a multi-stage hunt(to allow each boy some time with the GPS) and very short distances (less than 1/8 mile in most cases). I also have a couple bag of "pay dirt" to have them pan through at a different event.
With all of the hoopla of the "video game belt loop", which was very poorly reported in the media, I figure a good outdoor activity was in order.
