I am a complete newbie to this and I hope to gain tremendous information on this site, I have been on several others and ended up in dead ends. I appreciate all help and information that I can gather! Thank you in advance for any 'stupid' questions that I may ask. Have a great evening!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the warm welcome here. It really seems like a great community to help others seek and learn on many levels from the beginner to the most advanced hunters w/the top of the line equipment. Right now...sad to say...I'm at ghetto treasure hunting level. LOL! Hopefully that will change soon.

Hello, KittieDanger.......looks like you've jumped right into the community with both feet.  Smiley   That's a good thing---we like to see that.  As for "stupid" questions, we all have to start somewhere, so there stupid questions really are very few and far between----BUT there are questions like "What's the best metal detector?" that get asked so often that we may tell you to use the search function at the top right corner and search the "entire forum" to see what has already been posted recently.  (That probably beats answering "What's the best metal detector?" with "What's the best vehicle?" which makes about as much sense.)

BA, lol, true, right now I have minimal equipment of my own, but ya gotta start somewhere and it's an adventure for me and my friends, even if we never find anything the time we spend togeather having fun and searching is a treasure in itself! Thank you CulinaryCaveman, when I say new, I am as green as they get. I detested history as was taught in school, but as I got older and started reading stories on my own, both fiction and non-fiction, I gained a new perspective on history and got interested in any kind of artifact, it could be an arrowhead or it could be gold and I would be happy. I have an outlook of a modern day Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn kinda time, lol.
