 Hello

I'm new to this hobby. I've got myself a Fisher F4 and joined the NCMD and FID - all set to go. Now I just need some time.

My main aim will porbably be a bit of coin shooting to start with on beaches and boot-fair sites. Once I'm happy and confident with the machine, I will start looking for the historical bits.

Any tips welcomed. You're never too old to learn !

Hello Colin!

Welcome to THunting.com and thank you very much for having joined us! You got yourself a decent machine to get started. This is quite important as a poor machine would not have granted you many finds in the long rung and thus not have given you much joy. Metal detecting is a fantastic hobby and once you have gotten familiar with your detector you will really love it. Mastering ons detector will be some work at first but it's not that difficult. If you should run into any problem don't hesitate to ask us for help here and we will be happy to assist you.

I'm looking forward to seeing your firs finds.

Are there any other newbies here from Kent in the UK ? Other than the guy at the shop where I bought my machine, I haven't met anyone else yet from my area.
