yeah.....practice patience and never let yourself have a bad day---if you're not turning up as many targets as you want on a particular hunt, either move to a different spot or use the rest of your hunt time to consciously practice some aspect of your technique (who knows, that might be just the thing to turn the day around) or to try a slightly different setting on your detector.
Spend as much of your non-hunting time as you can reading previous posts here are researching possible hunt sites in your area
Remember that the most important tool you have is the one between your ears. Concentrate on making that one as good as possible and you'll be able to make the best use of whatever other tools you might have in your arsenal.
